Courier integration means that when you confirm an order on your website, the customer’s name, phone, address and Cash on Delivery amount are sent to your courier account automatically, so nobody has to type the same details again. Whether that is possible depends on the courier, your account type and what connection method the courier currently offers.
What normally happens
- A customer places an order and your team confirms it.
- The store sends the parcel details to the courier through its API or a plugin: recipient name, phone, address, the amount to collect on delivery, weight or notes.
- The courier creates the parcel and returns a tracking or consignment reference.
- The reference and delivery status can be shown back in the order, depending on what the courier provides.
Steadfast, Pathao, RedX and others
These couriers each work differently, and their connection options and account requirements can change. We check what your specific courier account supports before promising automation. If there is no suitable direct connection, that is fine: see the fallback below.
The simpler fallback: a structured export
If a direct connection is unavailable or not worth the cost, the store can export confirmed orders in the format the courier’s bulk upload expects. It is not fully automatic, but it removes most of the retyping and mistakes.
Delivery charges and zones
Integration only moves data. You still decide the rules: one charge for Dhaka and another outside Dhaka, free delivery above a certain order value, or extra charges for heavy items. These rules should be set at checkout so the customer sees the total before ordering.
Returns and Cash on Delivery
Cash collected by the courier is settled according to your courier agreement, and returned or refused parcels need a clear record. Decide who marks an order as returned and how stock is put back. A good setup shows staff exactly which orders are with the courier, delivered or returned.
What to prepare
- Which courier accounts you already use and how you book parcels today.
- Your delivery charges for each area.
- Which order status means “ready to send to the courier”.
- How you want to record returns and failed deliveries.
We will not promise live tracking, automatic returns or label printing unless your courier’s method supports it. Tell us which courier you use and we will tell you what is realistic.
