A standard e-commerce website in Bangladesh takes about 3 working days to build once you have paid the advance and sent your logo and basic business details. The whole journey, from your first message to taking real orders, usually has seven steps. Most of the waiting is not the build itself: it is missing details, product photos, or bKash, Nagad and courier accounts that the provider has not approved yet.

This guide follows the way we build a ৳16,000 one-time WooCommerce store. Other developers work differently, so use it as a checklist when you compare quotes.

The 7 steps at a glance

  1. Your first message: what you sell and how you take orders today.
  2. A written scope and price: what is included, and what is not.
  3. Advance and your basic details: logo, name, contact details, delivery charges.
  4. The build: about 3 working days for a standard store.
  5. You test it on your phone: place a test order, ask for changes.
  6. Final payment and launch: the store goes live in your name.
  7. After launch: you add products, and payment and courier approvals finish.

Step 1: Your first message

Tell the developer what you sell, roughly how many products you have, whether they come in sizes, colours or pack sizes, and how customers pay you today: Cash on Delivery, bKash, Nagad or card. Mention your courier if you already use one. These answers decide almost everything about the build.

Step 2: A written scope and price

Before you pay anything, ask for the scope in writing: the pages, the features, the payment and courier setup, and what is billed separately. For our standard store the price is fixed at ৳16,000 one-time; domain, hosting and product upload are separate. If you need something unusual, such as a custom feature or a large product migration, the extra cost should be written down before work starts.

Step 3: Advance and your basic details

We start after a 50% advance. At the same time, send what the store cannot be built without:

  • Your logo and business name, spelled exactly as on Facebook.
  • Phone, WhatsApp and email for the website.
  • Your delivery charges, for example inside and outside Dhaka.
  • Your return or exchange rules, even if they are short.
  • The domain name you want, registered in your own name.

Products and photos can come later. You do not need every product ready to start.

Step 4: The build (about 3 working days)

This is where the store is set up: the design on your brand colours, categories, product variations such as size and colour, stock, the cart and checkout, Cash on Delivery, delivery charges, order emails, and bKash, Nagad or courier connections where your accounts are ready. We also add the Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics so you can measure your ads later.

Step 5: You test it on your phone

Most of your customers will order from a phone, so test there. Place a test order with Cash on Delivery, check the order email, open a product with sizes or colours, and read the checkout as a customer would. Write down anything you want changed and send it in one list; it is faster than many small messages.

Step 6: Final payment and launch

When you are happy, you pay the remaining 50% and the store goes live. You should receive full admin access, the domain in your name, and short video tutorials showing how to add products, change prices and stock, and handle orders.

Step 7: After launch

You (or we, as a separate job) add the products. Payment gateway and courier approvals often finish in this period, because they depend on the provider, not the developer. Until they are approved, Cash on Delivery and manual bKash or Nagad payment work from day one.

What slows an e-commerce website down

  • Missing basics: no logo file, no delivery charges, no return rules.
  • Merchant and courier accounts: bKash, Nagad, gateway and courier approvals take the provider's time. Apply early.
  • The domain: a .com is quick; a .com.bd usually takes longer because of the paperwork.
  • Many products at once: uploading hundreds of products with photos and variations takes days, not hours.
  • Changes in small pieces: one clear list of changes is faster than twenty separate messages.

Common questions

Can an online shop be built in one day?

A very simple page can, but a proper store with variations, stock, checkout, delivery charges and payment setup takes a few working days to build and test properly. Be careful with anyone who promises a complete store in a few hours.

Can I see the website before I pay the full amount?

Yes. With us you pay 50% to start and the remaining 50% only after you have checked the finished website on your own phone.

Do I need all my products ready before we start?

No. The store can be built with your categories and a few sample products. You add the rest after launch using the video tutorials.

What if I need something custom?

Tell us in the first message. We explain in writing what it adds to the time and the price before any work starts.

Want to know how long your store would take? Send us a WhatsApp message with what you sell and how many products you have, and we will give you an honest answer.
